With the 12th pick in the 2012 draft, the Philadelphia Eagles selected Fletcher Cox, defensive tackle, Mississippi State. The Eagles staff gave up the 15th pick in round 1 and picks in the 4th and 6th rounds to move three spots higher for the Bulldog. Cox, a 6'4" 298 pound monster, signed a four year deal but did not make the intitial starting lineup for the club. Hopefully, giving up the other two picks reaps rewards for the team sooner than later. 

This is the 80th season for the Philly franchise in 2012 and Head Coach Andy Ried hopes to improve to the Eagles of old. He also hopes another pick, Mitt Romney, does well as a candidate for President of the United States. Ried contributed to Romney's 2008 run for office and again this year.

Defensive Coordinator Juan Castillo was retained after a stronger finish from his defense to end the 2011 campaign. Earlier in the season, Eagle fans were calling for his head.
