Mike Sherman turns over the controls to Kevin Sumlin in 2012. Sumlin will have high expectations in his first year as head coach of the Aggies as the team is now a member of the number one conference the past six years in college football, the SEC. Texas A&M has made bowl appearances the last three seasons with Sherman in charge and beat Northwestern in the Meineke Car Care Bowl last season, 33-22.

The Aggies finished the 2011 campaign at 7 and 6, winning five of their first seven games before losing in overtime to Missouri. 

Texas A&M entered college football in 1894 and in 1939 produced an undefeated season and National Championship. This is the only title they claim to own although they technically have four championships. Only one Heisman winner for the Aggies, John David Crow in 1957.
