The Buccaneers, or Bucs, are members of the South Division of the National Football Conference in the National Football League. Along with the Seahawks, they joined the NFL in 1976 as an expansion team. The inaugural campaign was painful as the Bucaneers lost all 14 regular season games. The losing streak spanned 26 games as Tampa Bay lost the first 12 contests played in 1977.
Tampa is currently owned by Malcolm Glazer and are led by first year Head Coach Greg Schiano. Only two coaches in Bucs history have winning records, Tony Dungy and Jon Gruden. Gruden and his Buccaneers won Super Bowl XXXVII in 2002.
Three players have been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, LeRoy Selmon, Steve Young and Randall McDaniel. Selmon was the first draft pick in franchise history and his number 63 has been retired by the team.
The second longest game winning field goal in NFL history was also kicked by a Buc. Matt Bryant booted a 62 yarder in 2006 vs the Eagles.
