The Nashville Predators are based in Nashville, Tennessee and are in the NHL's Central Division of the Western Conference. The Predators were founded in 1997, officially playing from 1998 to the present day. Out of the four cities bidding for the team, Nashville won the expansion team. The Predators cost the city of Nashville 80 million dollars.

The Nashville Predators have not won any Stanley Cups, Conference Championships or Division Championships. The Predators broke the record for the most wins for an expansion team's first year with 28. Another highlight came during the 1999-2000 season when the team scored four goals in 3 minutes and 38 seconds against the New York Islanders.

Last year the Predators advanced the the second round of the playoffs for the first time in team history. They faced the  Vancouver Canucks in the second round and lost the series 4-2.
