The Los Angeles Kings are based in Los Angeles, California and are in the NHL's Pacific Division of the Western Conference. The team was founded in 1966,  and was one of the six teams that began play as part of the 1967 NHL expansion. 

The Kings have not won any Stanley Cups, but they have one Conference Championship and one Division Championship. The Kings won their division in the 1990?91 season. They have made it to post-season play in twenty-four seasons, and have advanced past the first round twelve times. the Kings have only made it past the second round once. The franchise won their conference championship and advanced to the Stanley Cup Finals in the 1992?93 season. They lost to the Montreal Canadiens in five games.

The Kings made it to the playoffs last year. Their top scorer was injured and not available for the playoff games. The Kings lost to the San Jose Sharks in six games. It will be exciting to see what a healthy Kings team can do this year.
