Pearl Jam is back out on the road with two dates in the United States, ten in Canada, and nine in Latin America. The band is celebrating their 20^th year recording albums and playing concerts. The band is calling their tour the Pearl Jam Twenty Tour.

Pearl Jam got its start in 1991 when music was changing drastically. Hair metal was dying, and people were looking for something new. Along came bands like Nirvana, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, Smashing Pumpkins, Bush, Screaming Trees, Alice in Chains and Pearl Jam. Some bands were grunge, some were alternative.

Although 90's grunge, alternative has gone by the wayside, Pearl Jam still has its legions of fans who have supported them over the years. The band revolted against Ticketmaster siting that company was charging way too much for tickets and kids that wanted to see the band live could not afford all of the service fees and charges.

Pearl Jam's body of work consists of 10 studio albums if you include the brand new album. That's impressive for a 20 year career as some bands take years in between releases. Pearl Jam has been one of the few early 90's rock bands to last through the turn of the century.
